The Final One!

Image
K A Y A It is with great sadness I say that this will be my final blog post for the year. I can not describe how incredibly proud of students and the leaders this group has become.  What a great year of laughter and learning!  They have worked hard, played hard and lead hard...what more could I have asked for! A sincere thank you for all of your support, patience and kindness you have all shown me over the past year. Thank you for your quick responses to my endless requests and willingness to help in anyway has been noted and appreciated throughout the year.  A special thank you for my wonderful gifts and even more beautiful cards, I definitely shed a tear or two reading them, they are so thoughtful and extremely appreciated, I did not expect anything, thank you so much.  💕 GRADUATION The mass will commence tomorrow in our school hall at 9am, we ask that you are seated and settled 10 minutes prior to this. The students are to wear their formal summer uniform to this event.   Each stud

K A Y A It is incredibly hard to believe that this is the final week of Primary School for your children. I think I am in denial, I sit back and reflect on the year and can't believe we have reached this point already! Whilst I am sad to be saying goodbye this week, I know the students are grateful for what they have had at OLC and are ready with excitement to move on. Sorry this blog is not so exciting, it covers a bit of housekeeping for the busy week ahead. WEEK 9 INFORMATION! GRADUATION The mass will commence this Friday 10th December in our hall at 9am. It is expected to run for approximately 1hour and 30mins, with a morning tea outside the hall to follow. The students are to wear their formal summer uniform to this event. K a y a, My goodness, the end is in sight, only two weeks left with our little 6H family. I am full of mixed emotions, sadness that they will be leaving but happiness and excitement for our excursion and graduation.  I would like to take this opportunity to send you all a massive thank you for your support this year. Thank you for your kind emails, patience and laughs over the year. Well done to the students on their mature attitude and effort at the Parish Busy Bee on Friday despite the heat. The students put in a mammoth effort and demonstrated the OLC school values throughout the very hot day. The church looked wonderful when we left.  As there a lot of reminders below I have not included much other information. Thanks guys for your patience and understanding over the last two weeks. We will have a very busy two weeks ahead with lots of practice and preparation for both the Christmas concert and the graduation so lots of rest ahead for the Year 6 students. Thanks guys! ☘☘☘☘ Term 4 w

K a y a, I cannot believe that there is only 3 weeks left with 6H.  I have just realised that we are now super close to the finish line and it's that time of year where no matter how hard I try to slow everything down it is just not going to happen! With reports on the go, seesaw tasks being prepared, graduation around the corner and our final excursion less than 3 weeks away, I feel that I am going to be constantly running...so apologies if I do miss something along the way. Please let me know if I do, and I'll get on top of it straight away!  This week we had some very big laughs as the kids creatively came up with their own rap songs. They were full of figurative language whilst also including a joke or two. 😎   This weekend I went back to my Irish roots and watched the amazing "A Taste of Ireland" show. It was spectacular and made my slightly homesick. ☘☘☘☘ Term 4 week 7 Information:  Seesaw Reporting With the end of Semester Two approaching us, your child will

K a y a, Can you believe that we are heading into week 6 already. I am so proud of the mature attitude that the students have started to show towards their learning specifically looking at the amount of tests they have had over the past few weeks. You should be very proud of their effort and input, no matter the grade they have all tried and worked their very best. 🏆 Did you know that Saturday was World Kindness Day? Engaging in acts of kindness produces endorphins, the brain's natural painkiller! Perpetually kind people have 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone) and age two times slower than the average population! So, we challenge you to make sure you get one act of random kindness every day this week. 💓💕 Term 4 week 5 Learning:  Year 6 Gift  Wow! Was all I could say, when I saw our amazing Year 6 gift to the school for 2021. Above is a picture of the Six Seasons mural on the water tank at the back of the oval. Thank you to the amazing parents that helped out and made this
