Week 7 and 8 of Term 4

Can you believe that there is only 15 days left in Primary School for your child? WOW! Not only that but most of these days will include end of year excursion, practice at the Church and in the hall for Graduation and lots of end of year preparations! 


Year 6 End of Year Gift 
A massive thank you to the three wonderful parents who came along on Wednesday in week 6 to complete the end of year 6 gift artwork. The students did a really wonderful job on their own individual paver, which together will make up the OLC Reconciliation Pathway to the Aboriginal area at the back of the school. What an amazing legacy to leave behind - so watch this space! Well done team!





Graduation Practice and Year 6 Busy Bee 
Graduation Practice will start down at the Church in week 7 and 8. The students are allowed to wear their sport uniform on these days. This will be a strong focus for the next few weeks. Thank you to Mrs Meyer as always for joining the Year 6 team and making this very special occasion happen. 

On Thursday the 23rd, when the MacKillop students are attending their transition day to high school, the rest of the students who are attending other high schools will take part in a busy bee down at the Church with Mr McSevich, Mrs Hurst and Mrs Meyer. The students will be required to wear their sport uniform on this day. 

Library Books
If you can please ask your child to make sure that they are checking for any school library books that may be hiding on their shelves or in their bedroom. Mrs Kemp is currently going through her lists so you may receive an individual message from her.


Saint Vincent De Paul Collection 
Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those local people in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St Vincent De Paul Society. We have a collection box in the wet area of 6H and 6M and you are invited to contribute specified items. Please give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you.

Student Photo Collection 
The students will need to collect photos of their friends and family from home and save them on their laptop. This will be essential for their graduation art piece.

IMPORTANT - Graduation Preparation 
Thank you to those parents that have sent in their pictures already! 

Picture Request
Parents, we have a fun and nostalgic task for you. Can you please find and email me a photo of your child as a baby and/or toddler. We would like to create a PowerPoint for Graduation with these special photos. Please email them through by the end of week 7.


                                                       IMPORTANT - Excursion Extravaganza
Thursday 7th December brings a very exciting day for the Year 6 students. It is our Year 6 Excursion Extravaganza! 
The timetable is as follows:
9am - Depart OLC to arrive at Gravity at 10am
10am -11am - On hour bouncathon at Gravity
11am - Depart Gravity and head to the foreshore in Busselton for lunch
12pm - 1pm - Fish and chips from Equinox on the foreshore in Busselton
(Parents and volunteers are most welcome to join us at this point)
1pm - 2pm - Golf at Par 3 in Busselton 
2.15pm - Depart for Simmo's Ice Creamery
2.45pm - Arrive at Simmo's for an ice-cream and goodbyes
3.15pm - Parent pick up

Pick up will be at Simmos Ice Creamery no later than 3.15pm, we will not be heading back to the school. Therefore, you will need to arrange for your child to be picked up at Simmos.  If you are asking another parent to collect your child, please send me a note to say this as we are unable to allow children to leave with other than a guardian without a note.

Children will need to wear free dress (appropriate for the activities planned) on this day and please ensure they have a packed recess, snack, OLC school hat and water bottle (full of water). Please get students to put on sunscreen before leaving home that morning and we will reapply throughout the day.

IMPORTANT...For our Gravity visit, Gravity requires the students to wear their socks. Therefore, if your child does not have a pair of Gravity socks already, they will need to bring $3 on the day to purchase these.

Volunteers and parent helpers are required for Golf at the Par 3 to supervise groups. If you are available please email myself, Sandy and Sean. We will meet you at the Busselton Foreshore at 12pm for lunch.

  1. Wednesday 29th November - OLC Christmas Concert 
  2. Thursday 7th December - Year 6 End of Year Excursion 
  3. Friday 8th December - Year 6 Graduation 
  4. Friday 8th December - OLC Colour Run and Last day of School 
Homework - Homework is due to class every Monday 
  • Math booklet investigation (solve the clues to find the answer)
  • Reading - 30 minutes per night (this will need to be logged)
  • Any unfinished class tasks.

K AY A, I hope you have all had a tremendous break with this cracker sunshine. 🌞 I cannot wait to see the 6H family back in the classroom for an AWESOME term 4! We are going to end their time at OLC with smiles, busy times, Confirmation, Graduation, Excursions, Incursions and lots of learning! Important Camp Reminders and Important Information

  K AY A, Can you believe that it is only  5  sleeps until we depart for Year 6 camp??? The students are going to have the most amazing time; we will be taking part in activities like wall climbing, zip-lining, abseiling and team games as well as lots of fun group activities.  Please remember we will depart OLC at 8.40 on Monday morning. Your student will need to arrive around 8.15am and place their bags for camp outside the hall in front of the double doors. They will then make their way to the classroom for the class role. Students will need to ensure they have used the bathroom as the bus is a two hour drive. They will also need to take out any medical items from their bag and provide this to the teacher in a clear zip lock bag with their name on it.  We hope the students have started to prepare their bags for camp using the camp what to bring list below.
