Week 7 of Term 3

  K AY A, Thursday the 25th of August was the most amazing, jam packed day. First, we started our day off with a session of footy organised by SEDA college, it was AWESOME! Then, we got dressed into our book week costumes and went for a visit to the Kindy area to do a book week parade. After recess we had our insightful guest speaker from Project Numbat, zookeeper Jo Drew. Thank you, Jo for your awesome visit, we learned so much about our class totem the wonderful Numbat.  Operation Christmas Child  🎄🎅🤶  Please note this is the last week to bring your child's gift to school. They will need to bring their gift and the cost of $2.50 to cover postage.   Your child has been asked to bring in one of the following:  - Something to love - Something to play with - Something to draw with or write on - Something for personal hygiene - Something to wear  Here are the things that are  NOT  allowed in the shoe boxes: Lollies; chocolate or food; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes

K AY A, Congratulations to Carter, Jordy and Tim who made their Confirmation today in Our Lady of the Bay in Busselton. We hope you all have a great day of celebrations. Congratulations also to the Year 6 students from MacKillop who also made their Confirmation today. 🕊🔥  ⭐ 6H Star Citizen ⭐ Congratulations to Hudson Archer for winning the 6H star citizen award last week for the school value of Respect.  Huddy, you are an outstanding Year 6 role model and leader. You consistently display respect for everyone around you. During lessons you listen to your peers and always add depth and opinion to class discussions. You also demonstrate respect for others learning and showcase patience and kindness with your classmates.   K AY A, The Year 6 students really stepped up on Friday and were an integral part of the Mission Markets and its success! The school raised an amazing $2188.00 for Caritas to send to Ukraine. Well done OLC and the Year 6 team.  6H Merit Award  Congratulations to Cooper for winning the 6H merit award last week. This was awarded to Cooper f or the effort and dedication he puts into his mathematical lessons. He applies himself to the task but also push past the boundaries of his limits to grow and deepen his mathematical learning. I love watching him stick with a problem until he gets on top of it. Well done Cooper, keep up the great work. Book Week Class Novel We have just started our class novel for book week, "Rabbit, Solider, Angel, Thief" by Katrina Nannestad. This is a wonderful novel with a deep story, your child may come home and talk about some of the themes that we explore in the book over the upcoming weeks. Including; World War II, Hitler, Russia, Germany, Violence

Week 4 of Term 3

K AY A, I am sure your children have shared with you all the amazing tales and stories from camp. We had the best time and the students made you guys very proud. They should continuous resilience and bravery in all activities and showed kindness to everyone around them. 💛 At the end of this week the students will have access to a folder where they can view all the pictures taken by the teachers. You can then revisit the stories and activities with your child on their laptop.  A special thank you goes to the amazing staff at Forest Edge. Also, a massive thank you goes to the sensational team of teachers that came along with us, Mrs King, Mr Danaher, Mr Jones, Mrs Meyer, Mrs Costin, Mr McSevich and Mrs Hayward. This camp would not have happened without your hard work and dedication. Lastly, the biggest thank you goes to Matt Archer for coming along as a parent helper.
