Week 8 - Term 1 2022 - From bloggers Chloe and Tilly

  K AY A, Chloe and Matilda here hope you have/had a wonderful day. (Our week has been very busy and fun). ๐Ÿ’“ The past few weeks in dance we have been working very hard on creating our own music videos, soon you will be able to view the completed videos on Seesaw.  This week we are currently in the Wadandi season bunuru! Which is the hottest part of the year, even if this weekend was cold and wet. It is also known as the season of adolescence. ๐Ÿ˜€ Well done to the Year 4 students that celebrated their Eucharist on the weekend. Congratulations to you and your family. ๐Ÿ’“ The students of 6H Rock! GUESS WHAT? Did you know that every weekend Maisey does an amazing job a surfing at bunker bay! For the disabled surfing association? AND Eva & Olivia do 13 hours of gymnastics a week! Wow what hard work they must do!Awesome role models and leadership skills Maisey, Eva and Olivia! Thank you for providing a gold coin donation for your child on Crazy Sock Day to celebrate World Down Syndrome

Week 7 - Term 1 2022

K AY A, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent the weekend talking to family in lieu of not being home to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day whilst camping in Flinders Bay in Augusta, BLISS! A big shout out to the students of 6H and 6M this week for embracing their inner Leprechaun and celebrating all that is green on Saint Patrick's Day on the 17th March! ๐Ÿ’š☘ Lรก Fhรฉile Pรกdraig sona duit! (Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!) I also just wanted to include a little note on Saint Patrick's Day for those of you that do not know the background. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity. There are many legends surrounding the life of Saint Patrick including the legend where he rid Ireland of snakes. There are many traditions that we celebrate on Saint Patrick's Day and many symbols use

6H are Making Jesus Real

K AY A, The students of 6H this week have been Making Jesus Real . I have been so proud of their efforts both in their school work and in their extra community service. Below are a few snapshots of them Making Jesus Real in action!  Writing letters to our pen pals at Cape Care - Shirley, Paul, Jean and Rae! ๐Ÿ’Ÿ๐Ÿ“ช๐Ÿ“ง Taking part in National Clean Up Australia Day - we found 5 bags of normal rubbish and 4 bags of recyclable materials between OLC and the Church. ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿšฏ Our Year 6 Leadership team also held a successful fundraiser on Friday, where the students donated a gold coin to decorate their own mask. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ท The amazing OLC school band that rocked the fundraiser on Saturday in Dunsborough, with all proceeds going to support relief in the Ukraine. ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽน Well done Year 6 crew, what awesome leadership skills you have demonstrated and what role models you are providing for the rest of OLC.  Quick Reminders:  Students to bring an old white, beige, cream, grey or light coloured pair of socks
