Year 6H OLC

K AY A, Welcome to week 5, half way through this term already! It was a busy two weeks as you can see from the jam packed blog below, well done to the Year 6 students for maintaining their learning whilst balancing new and exciting projects.  It was great to see so many people out supporting our wonderful community and school at the OLC v DPS soccer event on Friday night!  Unfortunately, we didn't come away with a win, but it was lots of fun! Over the past week we have been exploring persuasive devices in more detail, so don't be surprised if your child is being a little more persuasive than usual.  In the coming weeks we will be using this knowledge of language devices in our own persuasive texts. In Maths, we have been working on equivalent fractions and are now applying this knowledge in adding and subtracting fractions to solve problems.  We are also exploring the likelihood and the probability of events occurring.   K AY A, Well done to the Year 6 students on a great start to Term 2. We have had a busy first two weeks back to school with Church visits, beginning of term tests and ending some big projects from term 1. We also have a busy two weeks ahead, with our yoga session with the wonderful Heather Starr, our Minecraft Launch session with CEWA and lots of learning to do.  A massive thank you to all the 6H and 6M students for making my Birthday very special.
