The Final One!

KAYA

It is with great sadness I say that this will be my final blog post for the year. I can not describe how incredibly proud of students and the leaders this group has become. What a great year of laughter and learning! They have worked hard, played hard and lead hard...what more could I have asked for!

A sincere thank you for all of your support, patience and kindness you have all shown me over the past year. Thank you for your quick responses to my endless requests and willingness to help in anyway has been noted and appreciated throughout the year.

A special thank you for my wonderful gifts and even more beautiful cards, I definitely shed a tear or two reading them, they are so thoughtful and extremely appreciated, I did not expect anything, thank you so much. ðŸ’•
GRADUATION
The mass will commence tomorrow in our school hall at 9am, we ask that you are seated and settled 10 minutes prior to this. The students are to wear their formal summer uniform to this event.

Each student has 3 chairs allocated for them at the front (labelled with name tags): one for themselves and 2 for parents/immediate family. There is then additional seating for additional family and friends at the back of the hall.

We suspect that this ceremony will run for an hour and a half. It will be followed by a morning tea outside the front of the hall, organised and set up by the wonderful Year 5 parents. The graduates will join their parents and family for this morning tea.

Please note that throughout the ceremony there will be a celebration of the 2021 departing OLC families, this is where the parents of the families who no longer have any children attending OLC after 2021 to come to the front to receive a certificate. We just wanted to make you aware of this, so you aren't confused when this happens tomorrow.

I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and sharing in such a momentous occasion with the 'Class of 2021'. It is going to be something special...have those tissues ready!

EXCURSION EXTRAVAGANZA
The excursion was wonderful and it was such a fabulous way to spend the second last day with the students. I am sure they are all exhausted as it was a busy day, they bounced their little hearts out. ðŸ˜‚ I would like to extend my thank you and appreciation to the students for their exceptional behavior.  A special thanks to Mrs Rogan, Mrs Tutt, Mr and Mrs Blackburn, Mrs Fursdon & Mrs Kerr for giving up their time to share in this day with us.

COLOUR RUN
Tomorrow the Colour Run will also take place at 2pm. As we have Graduation earlier that morning the students will need to bring in a change of clothes for the colour run, as they will be wearing their formal summer uniform in the morning. It may be a good idea to also have your child pack a towel and a reusable bag for any wet or coloured items at the end.

BOOKS
All that your child has left to take home tomorrow is their display file and their assessment file and their laptop however they will need to still bring the OLC school bag to fit these items to take home.

Go n-éirí an bóthar leat
Irish Blessing
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.
Go raibh an chóir ghaoithe i gcónaí leat.
Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar d'éadan,
Go dtite an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt.
Agus go gcasfar le chéile sinn arís,
Go gcoinní Dia i mbosa A láimhe thú.

May You Succeed on the Road
Irish Blessing
May you succeed on the road
May the favour of the wind always be with you
May the sun shine softly and nicely on your face
May the rain fall softly and finely on your fields
And until we meet together again
May God keep you in the palm of His hand.

Many thanks for the final one,
Miss Hurst 💚
