Week 3 - Term 1 2022
KAYA,
We have made it through the third week of school - yewwww! What a busy week it has been. We have new leaders, we have completed four PAT tests and a writing cold task, we have had two class liturgies and talked about sustainability, kindness, inclusive behavior and laughed a lot! This weekend I got to fill my bucket by going camping with my partner and our two fur babies. I hope the students have had a chance to fill their bucket with friends, family and fun. 💕
Congratulations 🟡🔴🔵🟢
Congratulations to all the following Year 6 student Leaders, who received their leadership badges on Thursday:
Head Girl & Boy: Emma Rechichi / Joel Peterson
Xavier Armstrong / Eva Paterson/ Mila Devereux and Sonny Spittles
Sport Faction Captains for 2022
Geographe: Mia Adams, Hudson Archer
Leeuwin: Olivia Breheny, Kai Gleeson
Meelup: Elsie Cross, Xavier Goodall
Naturaliste: Chloe Robinson, Alec Pollard
Congratulations to all of these students however, in my eyes, all our Year 6 students are role models in our school and I view all of the students as leaders, so they will need to come to school wearing their leadership lenses every week.

Character Strengths
Dear Parents, currently at OLC we are focusing on modeling and observing different character strengths. The strengths that we will focus on are taken directly from the VIA Institute for Character. If you wanted to learn more about this please follow the link to the 24 character strengths: https://www.viacharacter.org/character-strengthsThis upcoming week we are looking for people who show Curiousity. Can you encourage your child to reflect on the following?
PAT Testing:
This week we will begin our series of formal PAT assessments which will help further inform our understanding of your child's learning needs, as well as guide groupings within the classroom. The students will be noting in their homework book the days these tests will take place. They do not need to prepare for these in any way, however it is important that they get a good night's rest each day to ensure they are refreshed and ready. These tests will be held over week 3 and 4. These are diagnostic tests which inform the teachers what we need to teach, they are not something for the students to worry about.
