Term 4 - Week 6

Kaya,

Can you believe we are heading into week 6 and we finish in week 9?

OH-MY-GOODNESS!

The year 6 students have now completed all their PAT testing - Yipee!
We just have a few more units of learning ahead of us, so still a few more busy weeks ahead. We will continue looking at poetry in writing, measurement in mathematics, Asia in HASS, novel studies in reading, preparation for graduation in health and MJR in Religion. In the next two weeks we will be starting our artwork for graduation.
See below for what your child requires for this.

Wheelie Walkie Competition πŸƒπŸšΆπŸš΄πŸš²
Reminder - until this upcoming Wednesday, there is a competition at the school to win an excursion. Every day, the leadership team will visit the classes and count how many students either walked or rode to school. Let's go 6H! πŸƒπŸšΆπŸš΄πŸš²

Saint Vincent De Paul Collection
Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those local people in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St Vincent De Paul Society. We have a collection box in 6H and you are invited to contribute specified items. Please give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you.

Important - Graduation PowerPoint
I am just waiting on a few more pictures to complete the graduation powerpoint. Can you please send me an email with a photo of your child as a baby and one in Kindy. Thank you.

Term 4 Important Dates:
23rd November - OLC AGM
2nd December - International Day of Disabilities
7th December - Christmas Concert
8th December - Year 6 Excursion Extravaganza
9th December - Year 6 Graduation, last day of school, colour run

Homework

The students homework is due on Wednesday, 16th November.

Please ensure all students are completing their homework and getting you to check it with a signature nightly and then signing the reading log and homework diary on a Tuesday afternoon before it is returned. Students who have not completed their homework will complete it during class time and during recess and lunch, an email will also be sent home to notify you. This organisation and time management skills is vital to aid in an easier transition to high school.

Home Learning includes:

  1. Reading x 40 minutes every night - Book Club chapters due to be read by each Friday and book club role to be completed (see above).
  2. Math - Ultimate Time tables quiz and figure out the number question challenge and emoji crack the code challenge.
  3. Any unfinished class tasks.

Have a great weekend, I look forward to having a great week 6 with 6H!

Miss Hurst
